One partner asks the other for a die, or a sweet, over and over for a couple of minutes; the holder gives it only when the asking feels genuine — and it is handed straight back to be asked for again. Then stems for the holder: 'I gave/didn't give you the die when I felt ___', 'a pattern I noticed in how you asked was…'. A study in how we go about wanting things.

Hold with care
  • The Conviction Game variation allows 'any means possible' to persuade; the manual has partners negotiate boundaries first, and that step is not optional
