Leadership in Action

Disclosure · what is sharedoptional

Teams of four or five take a series of timed challenges, fifteen minutes each, with a different member leading every round and nobody leading twice until everyone has led once. After each challenge the team spends five minutes evaluating that round's leader — and the leader evaluates herself — noting what worked and where it could improve. The written notes feed a whole-group discussion at the end.

Hold with care
  • Everyone leads once and is then appraised by their team — real exposure for someone who has never led anything, and the reason the group needs some trust first
  • The competitive framing with prizes can sharpen the feedback; the facilitator sets whether that is playful or cutting
