Half the group stands with eyes closed at one side of the room; the others each invite one of them to dance. The sheet puts the responsibility plainly: the person who invites is responsible for their partner's experience — they should enjoy the dance and feel safe. When the music stops the eyes-closed partner is led back to their place and the roles swap.

Hold with care
  • Dancing with someone you cannot see, chosen by them rather than by you
  • Sustained close contact; consent needs asking for rather than assuming
  • The sheet's framing — the inviter is responsible for the other's experience — is the safety rule and should be said out loud to the group, not just read by the leader
