Try Me On
Answer 'Who am I? I am…' in a circle, then take off as much clothing as feels comfortable and pass it to the person on your left, put on what you are handed, move around the room as that, and answer the question again. The manual calls it edgy but highly insightful, suggests swimsuits underneath and a separate room for the swap, and offers a two-people-at-a-time version.
Prerequisites
- A group that has agreed in advance to an exercise involving undressing; the manual's swimsuit and separate-room suggestions are the minimum, not extras
- The exposure here is bodily, not verbal, which the disclosure axis does not measure; consent has to be explicit and re-askable at each pass of clothing
- Wearing another person's clothes touches identity in ways the manual calls insightful and does not otherwise prepare for — gender, body, class can all surface
- Not an exercise for a workplace, and the manual's own framing (an Authentic Leadership Training) says where it belongs
