The Fireman
Lying on their backs and breathing slowly, participants are led through a sequence of imagined sensations and asked how each feels — sand, then shingle; a snowball, then a bead of ice; toffee, then a peach; ammonia, then summer flowers — always in contrasting pairs. It ends with the image that names it: watching a fireman climb a ladder to the roof of a twelve-storey block, rescue a small dog inside his jacket, and climb all the way back down.

Origin
Konstantin Stanislavski — Stanislavski's system; sense memory
The sheet says outright that this is borrowed from the Russian theatre-maker Konstantin Stanislavski. It is a sense-memory exercise of the kind his system uses to build an actor's imaginative recall of physical sensation; the attribution is the source's own and travels with the tool.
