The group stands in a large circle and at any moment anyone may start running toward the centre — at which point everybody runs. The aim is that the reaction is fast enough that no observer could tell who began it. The author's reasoning is that learning you will not be hurt, because the others are paying attention, is what builds group confidence.

Hold with care
  • The author names the risk herself: head-on collisions. The group has to be focused and mindful of each other before this is run, and someone has to be watching for the moment it stops being so
  • A whole group running at one point at speed, arriving together
