In pairs, planning something together — a party, a picnic — in three passes. First each idea is demolished and replaced, as creatively as possible. Then each idea is accepted, but sceptically, as if you had to go along with it. Then each is met with 'yes, and…' and built on. The page's own finding from running it: the blocking round at least produces conflict, the yes-and round develops furthest, and the grudging middle round is nearly always the least interesting.
