If I Were a Tree
Lying with their own working space and eyes closed, participants are asked what tree they would be, and then led around it — how it would feel to be that tree, where you are, what you see, the season, the time of day, what surrounds you, what you think about what is around you, what you hear, what you feel, what you smell — before leaving the tree and seeing it from outside.
- A question like 'what do you think about what is around you' answered from inside an imagined self can return something personal; the sheet asks for no sharing, and a leader should keep it that way unless someone offers

Origin
Konstantin Stanislavski (per the sheet) — Stanislavski's system; guided imagination
The sheet says outright that this is borrowed from Konstantin Stanislavski. It is a guided imagination of the kind his system uses to build an actor's inhabiting of circumstances from the inside; the attribution is the source's.
