Constellations of Concern
Someone names a context alive in the room — age disparity, political difference, that everyone here could afford this event, or 'I'm aware of my age' — and people move closer to or further from the speaker by how much that context is shaping their experience, then a few share. Made so that gender, race and inequality can be spoken in a group without singling any subgroup out.
Prerequisites
- The manual recommends it most for a recurring community — a group that will still be together after the conversation it opens
- Naming race, gender or money as a context is exactly the point and exactly the risk: the design avoids othering by letting everyone position themselves, but whoever facilitates must be able to hold the shares that follow, and the manual gives no debrief structure
