At regular intervals the improvised performance is stopped and the audience is asked whether they want it to go on: 'thanks, or continue?' If they want more they say continue; if they have had enough they say thanks. Afterwards the audience is asked to say why they answered as they did.
Hold with care
- Being told publicly that an audience has had enough of your scene is real feedback on a real performance, whatever the frame
- The source's mitigation is the important part and is easy to skip: lower the performers' expectations first by saying that it is normal for an audience to be satisfied and say thanks
