Two lines of partners take each other's hands and learn them by touch alone, then rotate so that everyone has studied everyone's hands. Then one line closes their eyes and holds out a hand; the other line shuffles and takes a hand at random, and the eyes-closed player has to name whose it is. A correct guess is confirmed by a gentle squeeze rather than a word.
Hold with care
- Sustained hand-holding with everyone in the room, then being held by someone you cannot see and cannot identify — the anonymity is the exercise and is exactly what some people will want to decline
- Needs the group to know each other's names before it can be run at all, which the author lists as a necessity
