Establishing a Clear Vision
A talk-and-discussion that starts from the claim that everyone already holds visions of their life, including negative ones, and acts on them daily — the handbook's example is a widow who believes she will become a beggar. The group works through what a vision is, why clarity about it matters, and hears a story of someone who held one against difficulty. Groundwork for the vision webs and goal-setting that follow.
- The framing that people act on their own negative visions can read as blaming someone for their circumstances; the surrounding curriculum is careful about this and a facilitator has to be too
