Calculated risk-taking practices
Significant achievement requires risk. Collective courage involves calculated risk-taking—risks that are proportionate to potential benefits, informed by analysis, and bounded. Develop team practices for evaluating and taking risks. When considering a bold action, explicitly assess: • What could go wrong? How likely are different outcomes? • What is the potential upside? • What is… An ongoing team scaffold (decision practice), run as needed, not as a one-off session.
