One at a time a volunteer steps into the circle and does or says anything at all for at least five seconds. The group applauds fiercely — regardless of what it was. Then the next person goes.

Hold with care
  • Stepping alone into a circle with nothing prepared is a real exposure, and the unconditional applause is what makes it survivable — running it without the applause rule intact turns it into an audition
