The Self-Compassion Pause
A seconds-scale daily micro-practice for Empathy and Compassion (VCoL collection): When you notice self-criticism arising, pause. Ask: "What would I say to a good friend in this situation?" Then offer yourself that same understanding. Silently say: "This is hard. Everyone struggles sometimes." Practised many times a day, with a brief evening reflection, until the move becomes automatic.
